Congressman Josh Brecheen, representing Oklahoma’s 2nd district, recently addressed his constituents through a series of tweets regarding various issues and legislative actions. Brecheen, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after succeeding Markwayne Mullin, provided updates on spam calls affecting his office and shared insights into legislative processes involving a significant bill.
On July 2, 2025, Congressman Brecheen alerted constituents about spam calls misdirecting them to his office. He clarified that these calls were not initiated by his team but were routed by “third party political activist groups.” He assured constituents that “Our team is working hard” to address the issue.
The following day, on July 3, Brecheen released an official statement discussing his vote on the One Big Beautiful Bill. He stated that after extensive collaboration with the White House and leadership, he voted in favor of the bill because he was convinced it would yield positive results. Despite initial concerns, he expressed confidence in the outcome: “After a long night working with the White House and leadership, I voted yes to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill after I was convinced our efforts would result in the best possible outcome.”
Later on July 3, Brecheen commended his budget committee team and colleagues from @freedomcaucus for their dedicated work on this legislation over several months. He emphasized their commitment to fiscal responsibility with future generations in mind: “Proud to be a part of a great team dedicated to restoring fiscal sanity with our children’s future in mind.”
Josh Brecheen has represented Oklahoma’s 2nd District since replacing Markwayne Mullin in 2023. Born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1979 and currently residing in Coalgate, Brecheen previously served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018. A graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree obtained in 1997, he continues to serve as a key political figure addressing both local constituent issues and broader legislative matters.
