Congressman Josh Brecheen, who represents Oklahoma’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from abortion policy to federal government powers and energy legislation.
On July 21, 2025, Brecheen voiced concerns about abortion medication and its regulation. He wrote, “Abortion is one of the defining evils of our time. We must bring light to the repeated lies about the ‘safety’ of the abortion pill. This is why @SenatorLankford and I sent a letter to the EPA requesting that the full negative effects of the chemical abortion drug, mifepristone,” (posted July 21, 2025).
Later that day, Brecheen acknowledged recognition from a legislative analysis organization. He stated, “It is an honor to receive the Champion of Limited Government award from the Institute for Legislative Analysis. As President James Madison wrote in Federalist No. 45, ‘The powers delegated by the…Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to'” (posted July 21, 2025).
On July 22, 2025, he commented on recent developments related to green energy provisions in federal legislation. Brecheen said, “So proud of @realdonaldtrump’s administration in working to fix this after the super majority of Americans and members of Congress felt betrayed by Murkowski slipping in a last-minute Senate provision in the OBBB specific to green energy. A major part of the hesitation on the” (posted July 22, 2025).
Josh Brecheen has served as U.S. Representative for Oklahoma’s 2nd District since replacing Markwayne Mullin in 2023; he previously served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018. Born in Ada in 1979 and currently residing in Coalgate at age 43, Brecheen graduated with a BS from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1997.
