Congressman Josh Brecheen, who represents Oklahoma’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on July 17, 2025, outlining his recent legislative actions and political views.
On July 17, Brecheen announced his participation in legislation targeting the National Education Association (NEA), stating: “Yesterday, we co-sponsored legislation to revoke the charter for the National Education Association – the largest union in America. It’s time to hold the super-woke NEA accountable and stop the forced indoctrination of our educators! Thank you @RepMarkHarrisNC and https://t.co/NZ2M4soDT5”.
Later that day, he referenced a quote attributed to Alexander Hamilton regarding citizenship policy: “Agreed! As Alexander Hamilton once wrote, ‘To admit foreigners indiscriminately to the rights of citizens, the moment they put foot in our country… would be nothing less, than to admit the Grecian Horse into the Citadel of our Liberty and Sovereignty.’ https://t.co/N7FXRBtfZ6”.
In a third post on July 17, Brecheen described his votes related to digital currency oversight: “Today I voted to advance the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act out of the House, in tandem with the GENIUS Act and the Clarity Act, which will ensure that there will never be a central bank digital currency created. The bills passed today will allow a cohesive and commonsense”.
Josh Brecheen has served as Oklahoma’s 2nd District representative since 2023 after succeeding Markwayne Mullin. He previously held office in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 through 2018. Born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1979 and currently residing in Coalgate at age 43, Brecheen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1997.
