Josh Brecheen, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Oklahoma’s 2nd District, has vocalized his positions on significant legislative issues through a series of tweets. Serving since 2023 after succeeding Markwayne Mullin, Brecheen has expressed his viewpoints regarding the nation’s policy direction and government management.
On March 28, 2025, Brecheen highlighted the need to demonstrate a commitment to preserving liberty by suggesting a rollback of the Inflation Reduction Act. He emphasized that such measures are crucial for future generations, stating, “We need to show the American people that we’re serious about preserving the blessings of liberty not just for ourselves, but also for our posterity. We can begin to achieve this by clawing back the Inflation Reduction Act.”
Later that day, Brecheen addressed his concerns regarding the management of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). He criticized the federal government’s handling of the program, which he argued has led to dependency rather than opportunity. Brecheen expressed, “For decades, the federal government has grossly mismanaged SNAP, loosening eligibility requirements, allowing more recipients to be exempt from work requirements, and overseeing massive fraud and abuse. This has created a culture of dependency instead of opportunity.”
