Brecheen, who succeeded Markwayne Mullin in 2023, has been active in addressing local concerns and legislative matters. Born in Ada, Oklahoma, he resides in Coalgate and holds a degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
On May 21, 2025, Brecheen expressed his concern for those affected by severe weather events. He stated: “My family and I are praying for all affected by last night’s tornadoes and severe weather throughout the district, especially those devastated by the loss of their homes. Emergency management teams are working on the ground to respond to and assess the damage.”
The following day, May 22, 2025, Brecheen shared his support for recent legislative action. He mentioned: “I voted YES this morning on the One Big Beautiful Bill because my concerns were addressed. I am grateful to @realDonaldTrump and his team, @SpeakerJohnson, @GOPMajorityWhip Tom Emmer, and other members of leadership.” This statement highlights his approval of efforts to repeal certain environmental policies.
