Congressman Josh Brecheen, who represents Oklahoma’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his official social media account on October 1, 2025, addressing issues related to federal accountability and ongoing debates over government spending.
In one post, Brecheen called for accountability regarding actions taken against another member of Congress. On October 1, he wrote: “Those federal officials responsible for the injustice carried out against @RepScottPerry must be held accountable. True justice in America must never be lost or we will go the way of internal rot.”
Later that day, Brecheen criticized Senate Democrats for their stance during budget negotiations. At 17:55 UTC, he posted: “Why the departure from such a position by Senate Democrats who are NOW demanding illegal immigrants receive such benefits to end the government shutdown? Schumer and his Senate Democrat colleagues should not be holding Americans hostage by asking YOU, the taxpayer, to pay $9,300”.
He also expressed support for a colleague’s efforts on an unspecified issue. In a tweet at 18:01 UTC, Brecheen stated: “Thank you @RepMarkHarrisNC for leading on this important issue!”
Josh Brecheen has served as the U.S. Representative for Oklahoma’s 2nd District since 2023 after succeeding Markwayne Mullin. Before his election to Congress, Brecheen was a member of the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018 and holds a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1979 and currently resides in Coalgate.
