Congressman Josh Brecheen, representing Oklahoma’s 2nd district, shared a series of tweets on December 12, 2024, addressing topics related to federal spending cuts and healthcare coverage. Brecheen, who succeeded Markwayne Mullin in Congress in 2023, previously served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018.

In a tweet posted on December 12, 2024, Brecheen discussed the need for significant spending cuts. He stated that achieving these cuts with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy would require bypassing the Senate filibuster through reconciliation starting next year. “If we’re going to deliver on real sizable spending cuts with @elonmusk and @VivekGRamaswamy, it will have to be done through bypassing the Senate filibuster via reconciliation which begins immediately next year.”

Following this statement, Brecheen directed readers to further information about their plans by providing a link in another tweet. On December 12, 2024, he wrote: “Read more about our plans here: https://t.co/vxVv0q4OyZ

Later that day, Brecheen addressed a legal ruling regarding healthcare coverage for DACA recipients. He referenced a decision by a federal judge in North Dakota that blocked the Biden administration from extending Affordable Care Act coverage to DACA recipients without Congressional approval. In his view, taxpayer-subsidized healthcare benefits should not be provided to illegal aliens. On December 12, 2024, he tweeted: “A federal judge in North Dakota recently ruled that the Biden administration can’t change the law by overstepping Congress to extend Affordable Care Act coverage to DACA recipients. We should not be providing any taxpayer-subsidized healthcare benefits to illegal aliens.”
