Congressman Josh Brecheen, who represents Oklahoma’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted several updates on his official social media account, including remarks on the Federal Reserve, a deadline for Service Academy nominations, and commentary on a government shutdown.
On October 14, 2025, Brecheen posted, “Thank you, @RepThomasMassie, for recognizing that the creation of the Federal Reserve exceeded the Constitutional authority granted to Congress in Article 1, Section 8. For far too long, Congress has ignored these precepts.”
Later that same day, he issued a reminder for students regarding Service Academy nominations, stating, “Last call for students interested in attending a Service Academy to submit their nomination request packets to our office! The application portal closes promptly at 5pm on 17 October. For more information, check out our website: https://t.co/Ei3cLsia2w https://t.co/vEWvt58fzq”
On October 15, 2025, Brecheen commented on ongoing government funding negotiations with the message, “#SchumerShutdown Day 15 https://t.co/8uRVnCS5Nd”
Josh Brecheen has served as the U.S. Representative for Oklahoma’s 2nd District since 2023, following his tenure in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018. He succeeded Markwayne Mullin in Congress and is a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Brecheen was born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1979 and currently resides in Coalgate.
