Congressman Josh Brecheen, currently serving Oklahoma’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has shared several statements on social media reflecting his political positions and recent legislative actions.
On May 14, 2025, Brecheen posted a message asserting that “The days of chaos and lawlessness under Joe Biden are over, thanks to @Sec_Noem and President @realDonaldTrump’s Administration, who are restoring common sense and enforcing our laws.” This statement indicates his support for policies enacted by former President Donald Trump and current Secretary Noem.
Later that day, Brecheen paid tribute to Corporal Robert William Sumner with a tweet acknowledging his sacrifice. He stated, “Last year, Corporal Robert William Sumner passed away in a vehicle accident while serving on duty at the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. He will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall this year. May his service to our state never be forgotten.” This recognition underscores Brecheen’s respect for law enforcement personnel.
On May 15, 2025, Brecheen expressed his support for legislation concerning firearm regulations for law enforcement officers. He wrote: “Yesterday, I voted for the LEOSA Reform Act. It’s common sense to allow retired and off-duty officers who have undergone proper training to carry concealed firearms in public places. We must keep our communities safe.” His vote reflects an emphasis on community safety through legislative measures.
Josh Brecheen was born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1979 and is a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree obtained in 1997. Before joining Congress in 2023 after replacing Markwayne Mullin, he served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018.
