Later that day, he commented on the presence of a historic flag outside his office at the Capitol. On January 5, 2026, he wrote: “The Appeal to Heaven flag, which was championed by President George Washington during the Revolutionary War, hangs outside my office at the Capitol. We must all strive to learn more about the Christian heritage our nation was founded upon! https://t.co/9E8dUtxjkK”
The following day, on January 6, 2026, Brecheen addressed issues concerning transgender healthcare for minors. He stated: “Child abuse under the guise of “healthcare” must end. Josh Brecheen has represented Oklahoma’s 2nd District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Markwayne Mullin. Prior to his congressional service, he served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018. Born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1979 and currently residing in Coalgate, Brecheen graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997.
