Congressman Josh Brecheen, representing Oklahoma’s 2nd district since 2023, shared a series of messages on social media addressing both somber and celebratory topics. His posts reflect his engagement with national events and personal sentiments.
On June 14, 2025, Brecheen expressed his condolences following a tragic incident in Minnesota. “We’re praying for the families of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, as well as for the recovery of Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, who were victims of last night’s horrific shooting in MN. May God be close to their loved ones and grant them supernatural comfort.” The message conveys sympathy towards those affected by the shooting.
Later that day, Brecheen celebrated Flag Day with a patriotic message. “One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Happy Flag Day, America! “ This tweet underscores his reverence for American values.
Additionally, he marked an important military milestone by honoring the U.S. Army’s anniversary. “Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Army! To all of the men and women of the U.S. Army who have put their lives on the line in defense of our freedoms. We will never forget your sacrifice and thank you for your service.” He also extended birthday wishes to President Biden within this context.
Josh Brecheen has been serving in Congress since replacing Markwayne Mullin in 2023. Before joining Congress, he served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018. Born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1979, Brecheen currently resides in Coalgate and is an alumnus of Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
