Congressman Josh Brecheen, representing Oklahoma’s 2nd district since 2023, recently shared his perspectives on legislative matters via social media. His posts addressed concerns over a proposed bill, fiscal responsibility, and engagement with constituents.

On May 15, 2025, Congressman Brecheen expressed his opposition to the House’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which he believes maintains certain subsidies associated with the Democrats’ Green New Deal for an extended period. He stated: “As written, the House’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ retains many of the Democrats’ Green New Scam subsidies for four more years—the entirety of President Trump’s term. This is a HUGE mistake! First, if we delay a full Inflation Reduction Act repeal until 2029, we may never end it.”

Later that day, Brecheen conveyed his alignment with Representative Chip Roy regarding budgetary concerns. He highlighted uncertainties surrounding the financial implications of the proposed legislation following discussions with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). In his words: “As a member of the House Budget Committee, I share @RepChipRoy’s concerns. Further, after a meeting with the CBO this morning, it’s clear we don’t know the true cost of this bill or whether it adheres to the Budget blueprint. We have a duty to know the true cost of this.”

Additionally, Congressman Brecheen expressed gratitude towards constituents from Oklahoma who visited his Washington D.C. office. On May 15th he posted: “Thank you to the constituents, groups, and organizations from Oklahoma who were able to visit our D.C. office recently! You can schedule a meeting with us at the link here.”

Josh Brecheen has been serving in Congress since succeeding Markwayne Mullin in 2023 and previously served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018.
