OVERVIEW

#7 Men’s Basketball received an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament with the winning of the KCAC Regular Season with an 18-2 record.

The Eagles were assigned to the Park City, Kansas bracket in which they would go on to face off against Concordia University for the first round of the tournament.

Defeating the Bulldogs in the first round, the Eagles went on to play Ottawa (AZ) in the second round, falling short and capping their season.

HIGHLIGHTSRound 1 vs Concordia: W (72-70)

               In a back and forth battle between the Eagles and the Bulldogs, both teams fought till the very last second. Outscoring the Bulldogs 32-26 in the first half, the Bulldogs came out firing to tie the game late in the second quarter; outscoring the Eagles 44-40 in the second.

               Leading the Eagles, Kaleb Stokes and Jaden Lietzke combined for 33 of the Eagles 72 points and 19 of the Eagles 36 rebounds. Taylen Miller had himself a day on the court and stepped up defensively with 5 steals & 4 defensive rebounds throughout his 31 minutes of play.

Round 2 vs Ottawa (AZ): L (83-72)

               Having a slow start, the Eagles were outscored 41-29 in the first half. Coming out firing in the 2nd, the Eagles went on a 24-5 run the first 10 minutes, slowing after that. Unable to hold the Spirit’s offense, the Eagles trailed by 8 with a minute left.

               Kaleb Stokes once again was a force on both sides of the court for the Eagles. Stokes ended his 32 minutes of play with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block to lead the Eagles.
