Previously ranked #5 in the nation, men’s basketball is currently riding on a 12-game win streak, sitting at 16-1 on the season and holding the only undefeated spot in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Monday, January 9th the Eagles rose above and were reranked in the #2 spot nationally, right behind 15-1 College of Idaho. With the Eagles only, loss coming earlier this season to #18 Evangel, the Eagles are a major standout in the NAIA Basketball world.
The Eagles are currently averaging 77.9 points per game, 40.1 rebounds per game, and only 10 turnovers per 40 minutes.
Multiple Eagles have been selected as KCAC player of the week, including Derrick Talton Jr. being a two-time defensive player of the week for the KCAC. Talton Jr. leads the team averaging 3.3 steals a game defensively, while Jaden Lietzke leads the team in rebounds per game averaging 6.5.
Offensively, Jaden Lietzke and Kaleb Stokes lead the Eagles in points per game, offensive rebounds, and field goal per make percentage.
As a team the Eagles are a force against other opponents and are striving to remain undefeated in KCAC play and earn back to back regular season and conference tournament championships.
