Women’s Basketball went head to head with Tabor College on January 11th in Bartlesville to continue their KCAC play. Looking to improve their season and upset a top conference competitor, the Lady Eagles came out firing.
Upsetting Tabor 52-50, the Lady Eagles improved to 4-13 overall and 3-8 in conference play.

Ending the first quarter tied 15-15, the Lady Eagles and Lady Blue Jays knew it would be a battle the whole game. Falling behind in the second quarter, the Lady Eagles trailed heading into the 2nd half of the game. This was no problem for the Lady Eagles as they rallied together and outscored the Lady Bluejays 31-22 and giving them the victory.
Coming of the bench, Ty’Najah Mitchell was an absolute joy to watch. Scoring 18 points in her 33 minutes of play, Mitchell went 4-7 beyond the arc, 7-11 in field goal makes, and scored the game winning 3 in highlight fashion. Following closely, Zariah Tillman was the only Lady Eagles to play all 40 minutes of the contest and her 17 points, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds showed just why.
Defensively, the Lady Eagles were stellar. River Jeffries had herself a night with 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. Once against, Ty’Najah Mitchell showed how dynamic she was on the defensive side as well as the offensive with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
The Lady Eagles battled to the very last second and upsetting a top conference team. Grit was truly shown tonight by all contributors.
