Oklahoma Wesleyan University 3 Eagles Recognized as Pre-Season Selections

Three Eagles from the #4 Men's Basketball team were announced as Pre-Season Selections the afternoon of November 1st.

Coming off of a stellar 34-3 2021-2022 season, these three selections helped the team on the court both offensively and defensively.

HIGHLIGHTS

Brandon Bird – Senior

            Bird started 34 of the 35 games played in the 21-22 season and ended the year with 756 minutes played. Averaging 22.6 minutes a game, Bird put together a 55.1 field goal percentage, a 31.6 3-point percentage, and a 78.1 free throw percentage offensively.

            Defensively, Bird accumulated 130 rebounds, averaged 3.7 rebounds a game, and had 36 steals overall.

            He averaged 11.7 points a game and ended the season scoring 411 points for the Eagles.

Jaden Lietzke – Junior

            Lietzke started 34 of the 35 games played in the 21-22 season and ended the year with 752 minutes played. Averaging 21.5 minutes a game, Lietzke had an impressive season with the following statistics to show for it:

  • 69.7 % Field Goal Percentage
  • 59.7 Free Throw Percentage
  • 36 assists
  • 440 Points
Along with that, Leizke was a force defensively for the Eagles with 212 rebounds, 50 blocks, and 22 steals.

Kaleb Stokes – Junior

Stokes ended the season playing in all 35 of the 35 games for the Eagles, accumulating 580 minutes of play throughout the season and averaged 29 minutes per game.

Stokes ended the season with the following statistics:

  • 45.8 Field Goal Percentage
  • 30.6% 3-point percentage
  • 64.1% Free Throw Percentage
  • 330 Points
Defensively for the Eagles Stokes accumulated 144 rebounds, 55 assist, 17 blocks, and 31 steals.
