Hillcat Baseball Picked Seventh In MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll | Rogers State University (rsu.edu)
Rogers State baseball was selected to finish seventh in the 2023 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced on Friday. The Hillcats finished seventh in league last season with their second-straight appearance in the MIAA Tournament.
The defending regular season and tournament champions, Central Missouri were unanimously picked to repeat as the league's top team for the third-straight season with 121 points and 11 first place votes. Pittsburg State (100 points), Northeastern State (97 points, one first place vote), Central Oklahoma (94 points) and Washburn (85 points) rounded out the top five.
Missouri Southern (77 points), RSU, Northwest Missouri (45 points), Emporia State (43 points) and Newman (33 points) closed out the top 10. Missouri Western (26 points) and Fort Hays State (11 points) wrapped up the poll.
The Hillcats will open the 2023 season on the road as they travel to Hot Springs, Ark. to compete in the Dugan Invitational with the first game against Ouachita Baptist set for Thursday, Feb. 2.
