Oklahoma Wesleyan University Softball Opens KCAC Play with 2 Run Rule Victories

RV Softball opened conference play on March 14th with a double header against the McPherson College Lady Bulldogs.

Sweeping the series in run rule fashion, the Lady Eagles improved to 18-4 overall and 2-0 in KCAC play.

HIGHLIGHTS

Game 1: W (11-3) – 5 innings

               With the Bulldogs jumping out to claim the first lead of the game in the 3rd inning with a 3 run inning, the Lady Eagles looked to bounce back and take the game in 5 innings. Scoring 2 in the third, 4 in the fourth, and 5 in the fifth, the Lady Eagles came fought all the way back for a run rule victory.

               Baylee Knorr had herself a day, going 4-4 in the box and scoring 2 runs. Along with Knorr, Alexander ended game 1 with an impressive 6 RBI as she had a base clearing double and triple. On the mound for the Lady Eagles, Maddy Wiese threw 5 innings, struck out 6 and took the win, for the Lady Eagles.

Game 2: W (9-1) – 5 innings

               The Lady Eagles came out firing in the second game, winning solely in the 2nd inning as they went on to score 8 in the 2nd alone. Baylee Knorr, Reagan Rector, and Jessica Watson each had 2 RBI's during their outings & Fayth Hoover went 2-3.

On the mound for the Lady Eagles, Salem Liebenthal pitched 5 innings, struck out 7, and allowed 3 hits for the victory over the Lady Bulldogs.
