On April 10, 2025, Congressman Brecheen lauded efforts to preserve the USS Batfish, recognizing its significance to veterans in Oklahoma. He remarked, "The American values that have shaped our nation can be seen through the USS Batfish. This is a historic symbol for our veterans in Oklahoma. I applaud the efforts of the citizens and local officials working to ensure its preservation for future generations."

Later that day, Brecheen expressed satisfaction over receiving recognition from Family Research Council Action for his voting record. Josh Brecheen is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Oklahoma’s 2nd district. He succeeded Markwayne Mullin in 2023. He previously represented the district in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018. Born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1979, Brecheen graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1997 and lives in Coalgate.
